The Titians played in "retro" uniforms on Sunday. For the Titans, retro means the Houston Oilers. It was surreal to see them dressed as my childhood hometown team.
A Duane Reade is opening up on Kent Avenue at N. 3rd Street in the hood. Its one of those fancy, facelifted, new Duane Reade stores. I stumbled upon it in the dark last night. It felt like an alien spaceship had just dropped it in place in its entirety.
Its ready to go, shelves stocked, registers in place with their infra-red scanners blinking away, sodas chilling in the glass encased refrigerators. All it needs are the employees.
With all the half empty condos going up it was bound to happen, but its a bit sad.
I've done nothing but run around (mostly working) all summer. My summer has hardly felt like a summer. Working, no boy action though a few highlights included meeting Donovan McNabb and my brother's wedding.
I had a MUCH needed weekend away at a lakeside home in New Jersey this Labor Day weekend. The lake would become still and peaceful at times. I happily laid on the dock in complete silence. The rest of the time included swimming in the lake, going for a run on a dirt trail, celebrating Dave's birthday, eating, playing board games and reading two Vanity Fair issues cover to cover (!!).
Here is a photo of happy me! Click here for more photos.
I've decided I'm ready to move on to fall. The summer was not enough of a summer.
Here is a photo of me with my 3rd gay husband, Colin. Colin and I have been together since I was 24. He's been making my hair beautiful for years. Everyone should have a fabulous Colin in their lives, though there is not enough of him to go around. I was lucky, I got in early!
My internet connection at home has been wreaking havoc for over a month now. That is part of why my posts have been erratic for a while. I hope to catch up on everything during this long holiday weekend.
