What a sad day. Some of my colleagues at work are too young to even understand that today was the end of two eras, the 70's and the 80's.
Farrah Fawcett and her amazing beauty and her hair. I found a website that started playing the Charlie's Angel theme and the music instantly cheered me after an evening of watching sad news about Michael Jackson (he gets a separate post).
My favorite for best dressed last night was Tina Fey, who looked outstanding in a classy, yet simple dress that looked like a throwback to the 1940's. I could imagine Rita Hayworth wearing it.
I had never heard of synchronized diving, especially as an Olympic sport. Quite a mind blower.

I've been watching CBS news show 60 Minutes recently because they have been interviewing a lot of sports stars. The head news anchors are geriatric which does not appeal to me, but the worst is Andy Rooney. He is about 100 years old with yellowing teeth and creepy eyebrows who says nothing relevant about anything. His screen time is a valuable 2-3 minutes which is extremely wasted on an outdated, irrelevant, uninteresting, old man commentating on American life.
....but everyone is ripping on Britney Spear's lackluster performance on the VMA awards. Fine, it was lackluster. But they are also ripping on her body.
For the record, her body looks great for having had two kids in the past two years. Saying she looks out of shape is just feeding into the freak-ishness of Hollywood thin-ness and unrealistic body types.
