My internet connection at home has been wreaking havoc for over a month now. That is part of why my posts have been erratic for a while. I hope to catch up on everything during this long holiday weekend.
I have been having gross internet problems on my desktop at home lately (ie. no connection). This has been preventing me from being able to post regularly. So if I disappear from Flora Fling's Filings (more than I already have lately) then you know what happened. My technical guru visits Nov 7.
A little education. I am reading more blogs on a daily basis, picking up more jargon (link blitz to follow shortly). I shouldn't be such a snob like I was last night when someone sent me a link to a Mediabistro.com/tvnewser post. I told the colleague, I didn't see which specific post she was referring to because the link was only the homepage and I needed the permalink.
To which she responded, "Its not in the NY Post, its on Mediabistro.com."
"Yes," I rolled my eyes and said "I need the blog POST, I wasn't referring to the NY Post."
Such a silly snob am I. However, I shouldn't be because I just looked up the meaning of Web 2.0 (thanks Wikipedia!) the meaning of which I was heretofore ignorant (that sounded like some nice legalese).
After a month of aggravation due to complete failure of service and utterly incompetent customer service, I've officially gotten rid of Time Warner. It gives me such pleasure not to have to deal with those assholes, who, by the way, are the cable/internet mafia (Direct TV is not equitable competition in the NY market). TW wants your money, gives you crappy customer service/tech repair and are a bureaucratic disaster.
TV and internet went out on Friday evening.....for the entire weekend! Torture! Even worse torture is how completely dumb the Time Warner service reps are. Those people don't know there *ss from a hole in the ground but somehow they are like the mafia, you pay them, you are locked in. Want to change service? There are no options.
My relaxing weekend watching the World Cup and the Tour de France was ruined. Oh well. I ended up napping a bit more with less distraction.
The ultimate has happened!! Yahoo mail is down. I tried it at home and now at work - "cannot find server." Think of the yahoo trillions being lost every nano-second! But more importantly, what's a girl supposed to do stuck at her desk for 8 hours?
As a follow-up to The Code, I site was introduced to me that has cyber-versal code. And IITYWTMWYBMAD? (If I Tell You What This Means Will You Buy Me a Drink?).
